Makes me Happy Tuesday!!!
For a few months, I did posts on Monday about things that made me happy and it is already Tuesday! But I did think about things that made me happy yesterday!
One of this things that really puts a smile on my face is when I finish a long term project! Then I am doing the ultra happy dance! I can see Snoopy doing his dance and I can hear the music that accompanies his happy feet! LOL!
As you all know from previous posts, I have been working on my Daisy Do BOM for 5 months now. The free pattern for the blocks is available on Jenny's blog HERE until December 1st. Get all of the parts now because once this month is over, it is gone!
Once Jenny posted the finishing instructions, I decided I wanted something a bit more elaborate because I wanted to give a special gift to a fabulous and loving friend. So I thought about it for a week and then decided to do a table topper with a hanging sleeve on the back so my friend could use the quilt as a wall hanging as well. I sketched my layout and decided to make some sawtooth star quilt blocks with an applique daisy in the center to match the other parts of the quilt.
Once I finished piecing the top, I quilted the wall hanging myself using my new sewing machine. It has a walking foot! My old machine did not have one of those! A new and exciting quilty experience! It is sew cool! I love it!
♥ this foot! Made the stitching sew easy peasy!
Here are the photos of my finished project!
Here is a close up of my center block with the "daisies" block underneath.
♥ the shell buttons!
The points of the stars are green along with the outer quilt border and binding!
I love the balance of the design!
My friend is going to love it!
I really ♥ the daisies!
Thank you Jenny for the free pattern. It started out as your baby and I embraced it..... added lots of love..... and made it my very own!
I totally loved stitching this one!
And for the finale.....
I made this adorable label for the back!
Love the label!
A close up of the stitching!
As I said, my friend is just going to adore her Christmas present.
She hasn't seen it yet! She is going to be sew surprised!
Until next time, remember....
Sewing mends the soul.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I will be stitching my stress away!
I hope everyone has a happy and healthy Thanksgiving Day!
