Just One Star
This past week, I did a bunch of random sewing, hemming and mending. I also cleaned up my sewing room a tad and worked on my Birdie Stitches BOM. Unfortunately, I misplaced my camera so the images of the blocks I made will be posted later ont his week.
As you know, I love to participate in charity quilts for good causes. Recently, Rachel at www.psiquilt.com posted about Moda's "Just One Star" project. It is their goal to make 100 quilts in 100 days. The link at Moda's site can be found HERE. The free pattern for the quilt is posted as well! The post on Rachel's blog is HERE.
It's really easy to participate.
Make one star block in red or blue.
Sign your name and indicate where you are from.
Mail it off to Moda!
They do the rest!
"Just one Star" can comfort a soldier. Moda's goal is to receive 1800 star blocks by May 1st. Then they will make the 100 quilts by Flag Day and distribute them to soldiers. Truly a worthy cause!
Here is the block I made!
I signed my block as requested by Moda.
I had to make a ♥!!!
I had a little problem with my pigma pen! LOL!
It was an easy block to make!
You can choose to make it in red or blue!
I thought the star fabric would suit the block well!
I am glad that I participated in Moda's project and I hope that they reach their goal of 1800 blocks long before their deadline!
I also went to the quilt store last weekend and I saw this lovely quilt hanging in their shop! I stopped in my tracks when I saw this...... breathtaking!!!
Everyone who reads my blog knows how much I love to do redwork! This quilt is right up my alley!!! I went out immediately and bought the book.
I know that everyone is saying that I really need another project to start! LOL! But I love to stitch and watch TV and I have been doing more stitching than actual sewing at the sewing machine lately.
I have so many other wonderful things to post soon! I guess those will need to wait until the end of the week when I will post my next show and tell!!!
I hope that you all have a happy and healthy week.
P.S. I will be linking up!
