Makes Me Happy Monday Week No. 1
Recently while surfing the net going from quilting blog to quilting blog, I stumbled across the Pacific Patchwork blog. I was quite impressed by Paula Stoddard's blog and her outlook on her life. Here is the link to her blog: http://pacificpatchwork.typepad.com
I love her tag line..... "Quilt Happy....Quilt Often". It made me realize that the more often I get to sew at my sewing machine, the happier I truly am! It is the first thing that I want to do when I get home from work each evening! I so look forward to that relaxing time at the sewing machine or doing hand stitching.
I also love her "Love Is" Stitchery Redwork BOM which I plan to start this week. I have just recently reconnected with embroidery and I have never done a redwork project before, so this will be the one that I will do! YAY!!! Keep watching my blogs for the updates on this project! They will be coming!
Reflecting on Paula's blog has been a good exercise for me. I have always been a person who hated Mondays. It has always been so hard to drag myself out of bed and get to work! Paula has inspired me to change that! On her blog, she has committed herself to an exercise that she calls "Makes Me Happy Monday". Here is what she writes:
"In January 2010, I decided to start a new thing here on the Quilt Happy blog - "Makes Me Happy Monday". Every Monday for the year I will focus on something that mades me happy. It could be anything, anybody, big or small, that makes me stop, focus, and appreciate the "happy" in my life.
The best part about Makes Me Happy Mondays is that at the end of the year I'll have a scrapbook of 52 things that make me happy!" Here is Paula's "Makes Me Happy Monday" button! Soooooo cute!
I have decided to participate with Paula and focus my thoughts on Monday. I will concentrate on things that inspire me, things I am thankful for and most of all..... things that make me happy.
Today, I am focusing on how thankful I am that I am a creative soul, inspired by all around me, and that God gave me the gift of creativity. I plan to use it fully this week... each and every day.... with wild abandon.... not holding back!
Thank you, Paula, for assisting me in readjusting my thinking about Mondays. Every Monday I will be thinking about you and the inspiration you created!
