Oh Sew Addicted

I started the week by completing my July Little Bird Challenge sponsored by Jenny of Elefantz. I stitched the Blue Bird pattern found in Jenny's blog and then I appliqued it to the front of a blue cosmetic bag. I found the instructions for the cosmetic bag here at www.craftster.org. I love this pattern because the zipper is very easy to sew in and the ends of the zipper are covered quite nicely. Also the bag has a triangular shape, so it will stand up by itself. I made the bag as a birthday gift for my boss and it is personalized with her name.  I also adore the cute little heart fob that is sewed on to the zipper pull. So unique and it gives the bag such an adorable look :). A quick and easy project for a great gift!

Update August 9, 2010..... I made another cosmetic bag with the cute little blue bird stitchery for me sister. Not sure if I like the blue one or this ed one better! LOL!

When I made the first bag, I did not quilt it, but I like the quilted bag better than the one where I just used interfacing.... so if you make the bag.... quilt it!

I completed this Charm Pack Tote Bag in response to Jenny's Used Jean June Challenge. I took a pair of jeans that I had that were too big and cut them up! And I used the jean fabric to make this bag! So very cute! I just love the colors. They are my favorite! And I love the black skull fabric as well!

The cool thing about this bag is that it is a "quilt as you go" design. And I made it with fabrics from my stash so it did not cost me a dime! YAY! I had never made a bag like that... this one was pretty easy. It is large and roomy and more like a shopping type bag than a purse.
