Oh Sew Addicted
Sew & Tell Friday #18
Tonight is the end to a long work week and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. At least hopefully, I will be able to relax and clean up my sewing room and get down to some REAL stitching!
This week, I completed Block 2 of my redwork Dear Dianry quilt for 2011. My focus this week was on planning my herb garden for the front of my apartment and I think I have a cohesive plan. Now I just need to get out the shovel and do some digging, cultivating and getting the soil ready for the herbs I will plant.
In honor of the garden planning thought processes, I embroidered this design.
My flower garden will have climbing roses on each side of the big bay window.
Then I will plant lavender on each side of the pink roses, along with some rosemary.
There will be a bird bath in the center.
And kitchen herbs in a wheel shape around the bird bath.
Here is a close up of the stitching....
And another closeup!
I sure love redwork.
I have some other things in the works this week, but they are not far along enough to post any photos.
My heart goes out to those who have been victims of the floods in Queensland. I encourage everyone to do what they can to help. I plan to make a couple of sewing kits for the Gum Tree Designers. Please do what you can. You can find the post regarding the Gum Tree New Beginning's project HERE.
You can also donate money for the postage for the kits HERE. I will be donating some funds from my Paypal account.
Jenny of Elefantz is also auctioning off a couple of her beautiful quilts for charity HERE.
Cinderberry Stitches is also auctioning a quilt HERE.
Everyone is helping and doing what they can. I admire the generosity of the quilters out there. It always amazes me how wonderful people can be during time of need and tragedy.
I will post photos of my kits in the next few days once they are done.
I hope everyone has a peaceful day!
Do something creative to feed your soul!
Take care and be safe....
P.S. I will be linking up to the following linky parties throughout the next week.
